Delete Windows Mail Storage Folder

Under VISTA, I switched my Windows Mail storage folder to a location in My
Documents folder. I then installed Windows Live Mail in preparation for
switching to WIN7 in the future. I again saved the Windows Live Mail in a
folder in My Documents. Now I've got TWO storage folders that have common
files, and I can't delete the Windows Mail storage folder because it contains
some files used by Windows Live Mail. Any suggestions on how I could
consolidate the two folders?

Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail shouldn't be sharing any data files.

What files seem to be shared?

Although since Windows Mail is part of Vista, it may be that Vista won't
let you delete some parts of Windows Mail.

Thanks for your reply. Here are the files in my Windows Mail storage folder
that I can't delete or move over to my Windows Live Mail storage folder:

> WindowsMail.MSMessageStore

edb
edb.tmp
tmp.edb

The first file, of course, contains my mail and is repeated in my Windows
Live Mail folder. I was able to delete everything else, and Windows Live Mail
still works fine. I also thought about simply uninstalling Windows Live and
starting over, but I've read some posts where people can't uninstall the
program via the Control Panel route.
Anyway, maybe I should simply quit while I'm ahead. Any suggestions?

The file WindowsMail.MSMessageStore doesn't contain any messages.
It is a database that contains metadata for the messages ('read' status,
account flag, etc.).

You should not be intermixing any Windows Mail files with Windows Live Mail
files.

Why worry about having a few extra files? They're not hurting anything.
When you get Windows 7, you'll want to download a fresh copy of Windows
Live Mail.
