Deleted files appear in "File Name" drop down list

I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium and saved some media files into a folder
named "temp" within in the Video folder. Since they were just temporary
video files, I deleted them and the entire folder.

However, now everytime I use Window Movie Maker (or any other program) and I
attempt to "add a file" to the project, the "file name" drop down (where you
specify the file you want to add) has a list of recent files, but it includes
all the files I've deleted as well as the current ones.

How can I clear this list? I don't like it being cluttered with files that
no longer exist? The invalid list entries appear in all "file name" drop
downs where you are attempting to add a file to anything (for any program,
microsoft or not).

Right-click on an empty area in the Taskbar and choose Properties. Select the "Start Menu" tab. Select "Classic Start menu" and click "Customize". Click the "Clear" button. Click Cancel, Cancel to close the dialogs.

This erases all the recent documents history, Common dialog file name MRU, RunMRU, TypedURLs history etc.
