Deleted a folder by mistake

Hi.

I have managed to delete a folder containing to sub-folders with
pictures(.jpg)
The deleted files is not in the recycle bin.

Is it a way to restore the items?

Restore from your backup. If you don't have a backup (and now you know
why backing up is A Good Thing), then if you have Vista Business or
Ultimate you can use the Previous Versions feature to get the folder
back. Look in Vista's Help for "previous versions". If you only have
Home Basic/Premium, then stop using the computer immediately. The more
you use the machine, the less your chances of retrieving the data are.

shop that has experience in doing data recovery. This will not be your
local version of BigStoreUSA. In-shop data recovery is usually not
exactly cheap (for ex., my charges are generally $150-350USD), but it
normally costs less than sending the drive to a company like Drive
Savers. You need to make the determination of the value of your data and
decide what to do.

Interesting references.

If he has Business or Ultimate and has never backed up his machine he can
still try backup you computer option since Vista creates restore points at
some important moments like upgrades, etc. Rolling the system back to any
point that preceded the deletion event will bring back all the files as if
they have never been deleted.

You're talking about a system file restore, which does not include any files
or folders except OS stuff. If the OP has done a Complete PC Backup or Files
and Folder Backup from before the folders were deleted, these could be
restored. If not, then you'd need to do Recovery like Malke said.

I do not think so. I have done it a few times. It is my recollection that
when I restored the system to the point before I downloaded some malware I
got a full system as it were before that. The malware folders disappeared.
Also I saw a couple of files (or folders for that matter) that I deleted
after the restore point was set but before the malware download and they
showed up again.

As I said this is my recollection. I am still learning though. I might be
wrong.

I use Norton Ghost for backup and restore. Always backup important
documents.

You can also try to recover your folder with Easy File Undelete:

Folder can be recovered even if its location and size is not stored in
the file system
structures.
