Deleteing Destop Icon

Hey guys im new to Vista and haveing problems. I downloaded a program from a
cd a friend gave me and he gave me the rong one its like a 100 word icon name
on my destop and im trying to delete it and i can because it allways says its
to long to delete to the garbage bin and when i try and rename it to make it
smaller it just says its to long. If any one knows how to help me please do
thnaks.

In Start Menu\Programs\Accessories, right click on Command Prompt and choose
Run as Administrator. At the prompt, type:

cd desktop

Press Enter. Then type:

dir /x

Press Enter. In the list presented find the short name for
toolongofaname.ico, for example, toolon~1.ico. Then type:

del toolon~1.ico

Press Enter.
