deleting file question

On my Vista SP1 machine, why is so slow to delete a file?

In some cases it takes 5 muntes fro the delete confrmation window to
show up.

Machine is dual core laptop ( 1.8ghz) with 2 gb. of ram.
..
It is espically slow when I try to delete a fold. I have seem Vista
take 20 minutes to pop up the delete window to show up.

It is a lousy Operating System.
Throw Vista OUT; go back to XP, or Ubuntu!

You should contact MS via email. Or if you have an OEM pre-installed
version, then you should contact the manufacture for software support.

I am using a copy of Vista Ulitmate that Microsoft gave me.
