1. Emachines T5224; Vista Home premium installed on the machine when I bought
it from store
2. Installed Toshiba USB external backup harddrive
3. The Toshiba backup software allowed me to make my backup files.
4. Then I deleted files under PROGRAM FILES.
5. Then I looked inside the Tosiba software, and the deleted files are still
showing up as files I can save!
But if I go to my computer's hard drive, I do not see the files there
anymore. SO where in the world is the Toshiba software finding these
supposedly deleted files?
6. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THESE DELETED FILES AS IT CAUSES CONFUSION.
THESE FILES SHOW UP INSIDE THE TOSHIBA BACKUP SW EVEN WHEN I DO THIS:
a. DELETED ALL THE TOSHIBA BACKUPS, AND I TRY TO CREATE A NEW BACKUP.
b. UNINSTALL THE TOSHIBA SOFTWARE, AND REINSTALL IT.
(THIS IS A DIGRESSION, BUT WHY DOES UNINSTALL NOT REMOVE SHORTCUTS AND OTHER
ICONS THAT IS SPLASHED AROUND. UGH!)
c. Removed the Toshiba external hard drive from the computer
d. reboot the computer; even come in the next day
e. Installed another external hard drive ( a new one) from SimpleTech. The
Simpletech software kept seeing these files.
f. emptied the recycle bin
Gateway rep happened to see this when he wanted to clean out his system and
get rid of an old everquest game and install a new one. Somehow the Vista
would not let him because it saw the old one. FRUSTATING!
Please provide any suggestions for this? These problems are forcing me to go
to other OS
