Greetings,
As the Messenger e-mail address is the actual reference for the contact on
your contact list, you cannot change it - only delete it. However, deleting
it from your contact list does not by default remove it from your actual
Windows Live contacts.
Just go ahead and delete them in Messenger, but when prompted, choose not
remove from 'Windows Live Hotmail'. The contact should still appear in
Messenger if you search for it (or you can head over to
http://people.live.com), and you should be able to change the address to
your choosing.
