Hello,

In mediaplayer whenever I deleted a music file from my library I got a
warning message asking if I wanted to delete from the library only, or from
library & computer.

Suddenly the warning message no longer appears.

Not a major problem, but what did I do & how do I reverse it ??

Thanks

K

This group discusses Windows Media Center, not Media Player, repost to the
windows.mediaplayer group.

The popup that asks you if you want to delete music from the media player, or
media player and computer also contains a box that if checked, will not
display popup option anymore. Sounds like you checked that box to not show
anymore.

My recommendation when deleting is to delete from both media player and
computer, but thats just my recommendation.

To change your setting, open the media player
click "library" drop down menu
click "more options"
on "library" tab (which should show first)
either check the box that says "delete files from computer when deleted from
library", or not, its your choice.....
that is how to change setting.

P.S. - It is my understanding that media player is part of windows and
therefore part of XP media center, you were not wrong to post in this forum.

While true that MP is in all versions of Windows, there is a separate
newsgroup dedicated to MP. Posting in a topic-specific group is usually a
better option, as you may find more experts there as opposed to a forum that
is indirectly related. For example Internet Explorer is part of Media Center
also, but if you have a question concerning IE, you probably will get
quicker, more, and better help in an IE forum.

Your understanding is incorrect, Jaime explained why. This group is for
discussion of the Media Center interface, any general questions relating to
the underlying OS (XP) should be directed to the proper group, in this case
the Media Player group.
