Deleting SearchIndexer.exe!

Hi!

How can I delete searchIndexer.exe from c:\Windows\System32\ ??

It is hidden from the windows process list and and from the services list.

Have you tried services.msc in the RUN? It is listed as Windows search.

I have disabled the indexing services, but makes no difference.

I just wont to disable all background operations, but not turn
off the search ability in the explorer.

Have there been any other discoveries on how to disable
backgound services working on the hardrive? Which are
those that can be turned off safely?

My notebook is basically blocked for work 15 minutes after
reboot because of the harddrive working non stop.

Check your anti-virus/malware scan settings. Is it scheduled to do a
daily scan and if the computer is off will it perform the scan the
next time you power up?

two useful services which can be scanning your harddisks, but can safely
be turned off, are Superfetch and the Windows defragmentation program.
If vyou click on the latter from the menu, you can alter the schedule or
turn it off entirely. I think it is the Superfetch, though, that is
giving you grief. turning this off will slow down your initial selection
of programs, but will stop the disk thrashing.

You should check programs that are in the System Start to if you really
need them.

The machine is Lenovo T61 default configuration. There is no
crapware and I turned off everything imaginable.

How much load could be comming from Windows Defender?
