Deleting updates before they are installed

My daughter has received two updates through her automatice update that she
doesn't want to install.

How do we go about preventing these updates from installing? They are
"reliability update for computers with intell processors" and "malicious
software update".

she indicated that she received and install the malicious software update on
7/10/07, but, this one came after that one and she is convinced it's bogus.

Why does your daughter think that the update for the Windows Malicious
Software Removal Tool is bogus ?
What might have possibly happened was that the installed antivirus
program either prevented the monthly update for the MRT to install
properly or, it may have prevented the MRT from doing a scan of the
system, which it does right after having it's definition file updated.

To hide the 'reliability update' click on the Automatic Update icon in
the Taskbar, UNcheck the box next to it, click OK, then put a checkmark
in the box next to " Do not show me these updates again ". Click OK.
