Initially had no successes in deleting windows.old and subsequent folders
generated by multiple Vista installations. However I have been
"experimenting" with various installs, e.g. upgrade, clean and within XP.
With XP on C HD and Vista on D HD upgrade and install from within XP worked
great as did dual boot.
Earlier I changed boot order (BIOS) to CD first and installed Vista - using
this method Vista changes the drive letter designations.
After installation I gave another try at deleting Windows.old - success!-
took 15 minutes for an eight gig folder. This time while selecting the
deleting steps I was getting the UAC pop-ups about permission and
continuing - I did not get those previously because I had disabled UAC
because of the "pesky" pop-ups - evidently disabling UAC has an effect upon
Administrator functions such as deleting system files.
