Dell Axim x51v and Sync Center Problem

Hello,
I am having a problem with the Sync Center and my Dell Axim x51v. It is set
up in the Sync Center but when I connect the device to my computer, it still
shows that the pda is disconnected and will not sync. I tried turning on the
pda while in the cradle and running ActiveSync from the pda and it just says
that it is connecting but does not do anything. The only solution that worked
in the past is to download the sync center again and set up a new
partnership. I can't do that every time I need to sync my pda. Any
suggestions??
