| Dell doesn't want people to get XP pro as downgrade rights from Vista
| Business...
| I have a friend on the phone and she is in tears.. she hates vista (and with
| very good reason)
| and I told her that if she gets vista business and ultimate dell can install
| XP pro on her computer
| as downgrade rights.
| Apparently the dell employee insists that dell cannot do that UNLESS
| someone buys one of a couple of computers from them that they have included
| this option...
| the models are:
| Dell systems that are part of the downgrade rights program are:
| Latitude laptops, OptiPlex desktops and Dell Precision workstations
| Dell Vostro laptops and desktops
| Dell Gaming systems - the XPS 630 desktop and XPS M1730 laptop (Note - Vista
| Ultimate is the only DGR OS option for these systems)
| this is sick.... Dell is kissing Microsofts butt with this stupid policy.
| Pushing vista on to people who hate it!
| I would tell her to f@ck dell and get it from somewhere else!
| If they use the downgrade rights themselves on the Dell computer of their
| choice, to install XP the warrantee is VOID!!!
| Vista stinks and no one wants it, yet its being forced down the throats of
| so many people.
| PS. frank stinks too just like vista
Get another hard disk. Install XP Pro (assuming there are drivers for that Dell system).
When there is a warranty issue, put back in the hard disk with Vista.
