I wish I had seen this when I was having the same problem. I contacted the
Windows live customer support and they adviced me to delete a file from my
registry. Unfortunatey they forgot to advice me to keep a copy of the file I
deleted. It fixed the problem with signing in with all accounts on windows
live but I haven't been able to update any Microsoft updates since then.
When I tried to upgrade to IE7, IE stopped working and the only solution I
found was to revert to previous state. I still can't update windows and am
stuck with a beta version of IE which feels like it's only partially
installed. My computer is only a few months old and I was hoping I wouldn't
have to reinstall Windows on it but it looks like that will be the only
solution.
