This is the second time this has happened. I have a picture set as my
background that usually has a bit of a black border around it because the
origional size does not fit the screen in full. When I brought my laptop
back from Sleep this morning, the picture is stretched and so are my desktop
icons. I have checked the resolution, color properties, background layout,
etc and nothing seems to help. When I have the picture set as "Center" for
the background, it shows up very zoomed in now. HELP!

I am open to any and all suggestions

In Device Manager, expand Display Adapter. Double-click on on the device
listed, and, on the Driver tab, post back as to it's name and the driver
version number. Also state your computer make and model name/number.

You didn't state the driver version number. Is it a lower number than the
one shown here (7.15.10.9759 B), for NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 Graphics Driver?

Yes, it is the 7.15.10.9759 . There is no letter at the end of it on my
computer.

Have you looked in Control Panel (Classic View) > NVIDIA for anything that
might be askew? If things look all right there, you may want re-install the
driver. Does the distortion behavior continue even after restarting your
computer?

I don't notice anything askew in the Control Panel. And yes, it does
continue even after restarting my computer, when I reset the background,
change the picture. how would I go about re-installing the driver if it came
installed on my computer? If an update is available, should I update it?

I can't see anything askew in the control panel. Can I re-install the driver
if it came installed on my laptop? Yes, the distortion behavior continues
even after I restart the computer.

Thanks!

To reinstall the driver, first download the driver package from HP. You may
want to check here first to help identify the exact model number of your
notebook:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...=product&cc=us

Post back with that info.
