I've check event viewer, but it does not show out any error msg. Then I try
to create another user account as admin. Yet the result still the same. After
the User login, desktop does not load, showing blank windows. No right click
mouse function. But Ctr+ALT+Del still can work with Task Manager.

Pls Help. I really need an advise here.

hello Victo

I had the same problem with my vista OS , Windows desktop would no
load up after login, I restarted my computer over and ove
again trying to get it to load up, After about 50 tries I stopped an
thought what if it is a conflict or something , I then restarte
windows in safe mode and looked at all my programs closely , In my ad
and remove programs I notice that I installed a second fire wall calle
comodo fire wall , I cant remember why I installed it maybe for extr
security or somethin or cause I was getting a system32 trojan dropper a
the time I think , I decided to uninstall it and restart
after restarting and interring my password to my user account window
desktop popped up , So it was a conflict hmmm! my fire walls were no
getting along , So if i were you I would load up safe mode and see i
theres Any programs that you have installed that might be conflicting i
your system an stopping windows from loading to desktop, I hope m
suggestion helps you out Victor take care and good luck^

Victor, I imagine you have probably performed a reinstall by now.
Hopefully this will help somebody else. I'm am having the same issue.
What I have done as a work around is to ctl-alt-dlt to get into task
manager then goto File>New Task> and start explorer.exe from there.
Vista shows the desktop and loads all of my startup and everything works
great.

Sarafee, I'm not 100% that it is the firewall doing this, I'm using
AVG9 IS and have disabled Vista, tried it the opposite way and have
disabled both and seem to have the same symptoms. I'll let you know what
I;ve come up with.

Go here download and run this script:
http://www.paulsxp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=142
This script will add the explore.exe back to the shell, Vista.

My apologies, a typo. It is AVG 8.

Paul, thanks for the script that seems to have fixed my problem.
