The desktop folder was earlier stored at C:\Users\c\Desktop.
but dont how but now it is changed to C:\Users\c\Desktop\Desktop
now there are 2 Desktop folders on my User Folder.
There is also a Desktop Icon in the original location which is linked
to the newly created location. If I delete any one of them, either newly
created or old folders,I get an error message...
"*C:\Users\c\Desktop\Desktop refers to a location that is
unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer,or on a
network.Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted,or that
you are connected to the Internet or your netork, and then try again. If
it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a
different location*."

I tried to change location,use regedit.exe but for no use.I don't wish
to have extra Desktop folder in my User Profile folder because its a big
mess with the downloads.
Please help.

Hello Kranthi, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Delete the extra folders, then using METHOD THREE in the tutorial
below, restore the default location for the Desktop folder.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi,

Move any documents in \desktop\desktop to just \desktop

Open Windows Explorer to C:\Users\c, right click the "desktop" icon in the
right pane and choose properties. On the Location tab, click on 'restore
default'.

You're welcome Kranthi. If it acts up on you again, post back.
