I have no idea how or why but the fonts on my desktop have suddenly gone
white.

I have checked under Control Panel//Personalization//Advanced//Desktop and
the choice of font is greyed out in all instances.
Fonts on the sidebar (Links) are okay (black). It's just the desktop.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

TIA

Ed

I don't know why it happened, but you can probably reset it by choosing a
different color scheme and then changing it back.

Thanks, Dave.

I did discover the answer a while back via another contributor's post. Maybe
I should have posted it here too.

The answer is actually in the desktop appearance. Under the wallpaper I use
(a pic of my wife on the great Wall of China) the colour was somehow changed
to black hence the white font that Windows automatically changed it to so it
could be seen. The cure is to right click the desktop, select
"Properties//Desktop Background and then enable the Centre option which will
then display "Change background color". Change it to say, white, and then
reset the wallpaper where you had it and all is okay.

Thanks for the input in any case.

Regards,

Ed
