Desktop function tabs dropdown

Hi, I was wondering how to close out of the Function dropdown tabs that
appear at the top of the desktop, they allow you to put your laptop into
hibernate or sleep mode and preform other functions as well, i just dont want
it there

That's not part of Vista. It will be some software from your laptop
manufacturer that makes that appear. What sort of laptop do you have?

If you make another post here, asking the attention of other Toshiba laptop
owners in the title, I'm sure somebody here could tell you. I only know
Sony and Thinkpad laptops very well.

look in your Toshiba menu for flashcards - that’s what they are. You can
disable them. Don't remember the exact procedure since I dumped the Toshiba,
but it is there.
