You can reset the Desktop shell folder path in the registry directly.

My Desktop folder somehow got changed to a path in my Documents directory.
When I delete it, everything on my desktop is deleted (except the Recycle
Bin). I also get a warning everytime I open up an explorer window now saying
it can't find the location where the desktop folder I deleted was. Is there
a simply way to return the location of the Desktop directory to it's default?
