desktop locked

my desktop wallpaper changed from the default vista paper to just white with
red at the top, and none of my icons work. i cant right click or do
anything,

any ideas

Tap F8 right at power on/ start up, and go into Safe Mode.
Once there, do a System Restore, after disabling your Anti-virus.

Start>Programs>Accessories>SystemTools>System Restore.
Take your comp back to a date before probs.
