Desktop window

I have just installed Nero 7. After the instalation process i re-started my
PC as requested. When i logged back in the desktop was not there, just a
black screen. One window only was open; Documents.

How do i enable the desktop window to come back? Was there possibly a
setting not correct in Nero?

The same problem occurs with the other users on this PC after login.

Running Vista.

Should have checked this first.

I opened up Task Manager and noticed that there only 10 Processes running
and 3 applications (2 x Explorer, 1 x Documents Folder).

How do i get everything back online?

Hi,

From Task Manager, on the applications tab, click new task and run regedit.
Go to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Check the entry for the shell string in the right column, it may have been
altered. Double click it, and make sure the entry reads only explorer.exe

Hi,

Remove the latter part by double clicking the shell string in the right
pane, then delete the latter part or just type explorer.exe over it. Click
ok, close the registry editor and restart the system.
