Desktop Won't load

I just updated windows and these are the downloads I had. Since then when we
switch users our desktops won't load up. So I have to restart the computer in
order for the desktop to load. Does anyone know which one of these upgrades
is causing this? Thanks

A similare thing happened to me yesterday. I downloaded SP1 for Windows
Server 2003, and when it rebooted, the Hive was corrupted! Now all i get is a
blank desktop on any profile and no way to recover that I can see.

Any help?

Everything else work? Do you have a taskbar? Start Button?

Right-click the desktop, select "Arrange Icons by", and make sure that there's a checkmark
alongside "Show Desktop Icons". You can also try changing to the default Server 2003 theme.

Right-click the desktop, Properties, "Themes" tab, use the spin box and select the default
Server 2003 entry as the Theme, Click "Apply", and OK your way out.

Yes, the taskbar loads up but, Im not sure if I remember the start button or
not, I dont think I seen that load up, only the taskbar. I do have the show
desktop icons marked but, if it happens again I will make sure, if Im able to
do so without having to restart. I also dont see the 2003 server theme as a
option. Any particular reason why this has to be a default theme? I'm not
sure but, one of the updates particulary the "Windows Malicious Software
Removal Tool" could be causing my problem. Just what I suspect. I noticed
there is no way to uninstall this as it's not in my control panel and I can't
find it either. Thanks
