I wish to create a small problem to control certain features of Live
Messenger. Enter text in a chat window, initiate remote assistance, and so
on.

Do anyone have any pointers to where I should begin? Any websites with good
information on this?

I wish to do it in Visual Studio 2005.

The SDK for writing addins for Messenger can be found here:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa905655.aspx

And some very good examples can be found here:

It could've been easier, but I cannot know that all my users have Messenger
Plus installed.

Thank you for the suggestion, though.
