DFS link appear as empty folder

On my Windows 2000 Server SP4 I've created a DFS root (stand-alone):
\\Server1\MyDFS
On this DFS root, I've created a new DFS Link named DFSLink to another
server: \\Server2\Share (already containing files).
From all my client (Windows 2000/XP) I can access the DFS root with
\\Server1\MyDFS anche I can see a subfolder named DFSLink but if I try to
open the DFS link with \\Server1\MyDFS\DFSLink the folder is empty and I've
no write access.
From all client, I can open \\Server2\Share and see all files contained on
it.
If I open the DFSLink \\Server1\MyDFS\DFSLink from the Server (Server1), the
folder are not empty and I can see all the files present on \\Server1\Share

I've tryed the same configuration on another Windows 2000 Server SP4 and all
work fine.
The problem is isolated on my Server1.

Any idea???
Thanks.

Hello,
It seems your problem is because you have a standalone root. If you are in a
domain environment, I will suggest you create a domain based namespace root.
this will work better for you

I suspect you have a permission issue. You are logged in to the server as
administrator (I assume) and to the client not as a server1 administrator. Check
the NTFS permissions on the folders on Server1, have you read access?

Not a permission issue.
I've also tryed to log as Server Administrator from the client but don't
work.
Other test Server is on the same situation as Server1 and it work.

I've a Windows NT based domain not AD so I can't create a domain based
namespace root.
But my test Server work correct with standalone root.

Found some news.
From a cliet, I've now tryed to map 2 DSF drive.
First on main Sever \\Server1\MyDSF
Second on test Server \\TestServer\MyDFS
If I open the property of the mapped drives, the first appear as a standard
network drive instead, the second, have the DFS property where I can see the
"Alternate paths available".

So the problem is the "mode" used by the client to connect the shared
folder. It don't recognize \\Server1\MyDFS as a DFS share.
How the client recognize a DFS share from a normal shared folder?
