DFS lock open files W2008

windows server 2008

I have 3 servers in three different locations.
when a user opens the file in location A, that file is locko only server (
A, B, C ) or servers A?

Emilio,
DFS does not "distribute" file locks - so locking a file on a link target
hosted on server A will not automatically lock its replicas on servers B and
C...
If you require this sort of functionality, you would need to use a third
party product, such as for example DFS File Locking from Peer Software
available at
http://www.peersoftware.com/solution...e_locking.aspx

It's quite hilarious that you need 3rd party software to do this. I really hoped Windows Server 2008 fixed this.
