DFS Namespace server

Hi,
we have a domain DFS Namespace that is sharing files between between a
parent and child domain, each domain has its own site. At the moment all
namespace servers (DCs) belong to the parent domain, so I was wondering if
adding a DC from the child domain (if it is supported) woul increase
performance for the child domain users. Thanks.
