DFS Root

I have two servers, not domain controllers, that both have dfs shares with
replication setup and it appears to be working correctly. My question is
though when I type \\my.domain from a workstation I don't see any of the DFS
shares. Should I also have the domain controllers setup at DFS Roots on the
shares? If you type in \\my.domain\myshare it works from any workstation or
server.

\\my.domain is a link to one of your DCs. So, you can see the "myshare"
only, if all of your DCs also host the DFS Root share. If only some of your
DCs contain the DFS Root, you would only sometimes see the share when
opening \\my.domain ... so, it's up to you, if you want to do this or not.
My solution was to create a network drive (e.g. by script).
