Thanks Meinolf, I cannot find the blog entry (so far). The above does explain
what is happening but I still think this is a poor implementation. From the
users perspective the Quota is supposed to apply to new folders. If Windows
Explorer creates a new folder it gets the Auto Quota applied. If DFRS creates
the folder then it is effectively is disregarding the quota that should be
applied. This is rather like disregarding the NTFS permission and then saying
"We don't copy the NTFS permission, it not part of the DFSR design to have
correct permissions". Or course DFSR has done permissions correctly but not
quotas. I am not asking for quotas to be replicated just that when a folder is
replicated the quota at the target is applied during folder creation.
