All,
I have a pair of servers that are clustered. Together they run my DHCP
service on my network. The DHCP database is stored on the NAS. DHCP is
currently handing out IP addresses for my network.
HOWEVER, i am getting access is denied errors when ever i attempt to access
the DHCP administrative console. I cannot view my DHCP server settings,
scope, leases, ect...
My account that i am using is a memeber of the domain admins group. Which
is also a member of ENTERPRISE ADMINS, DHCP ADMINISTRATORS, and a couple
other groups.
I can use the NETSH command to view SOME information about the DHCP server,
but cannot do anything with the DHCP database. Such as export/backup the
database, or audit the database.
This does not matter what system/server i am on - i gett the access is
denied message. I have tried this with a brand new account that was a member
of the enterprise admins group with the same results. There are no errors or
warnings in the system/security logs..
The DHCP service is running under the domain admin account - this is due to
the design of the cluster we have setup. I can start/stop the DHCP server
service just fine.
I have full control over the Q:\DHCP database folder and files and can
browse them via explorer - and open the .log files with notepad.
Does anyone have a clue about WTF is going on here???
Again - I am getting access is denied when attempting to access the DHCP
console via Administrative Tools | DHCP on the DHCP server (Same error using
computer management) BUT my DHCP server is doing its job..
