Dial Up Works -- Pages Won't Load

Ever since my last windows update I haven't been able to use the internet at
all -- even though my connection is working fine. I've tried IE, Netscape
and AIM and nothing will open up. I think it might have something to do with
the new firewall settings but I can't get the outcome to change no matter how
I change them. Any thoughts?

Is NIS or NPF installed?

It's window XP home edition. Don't know what NIS or NPF is...
