Hi;

My Event Log is a mess of the following error (see below). I'm talking about
5,000 events since 4:07 yesterday afternoon. Interspersed with these
WebReource.axd / Cryptographic errors are errors related to the failure of
the .NET Runtime Optimization Service to compile
Microsoft.reportingServices.QueryDesigners (see last error below). I have
since uninstalled KB928365 and I am experiencing a whole slew of successful
..Net Runtime Optimization Service compilations notices – don’t know yet if
the uninstall worked as I’m still receiving WebReource.axd / Cryptographic
errors – will wait till the . Net Runtime Optimization Service runs its
course.
Any idea as to what is going on?

There are many reports of people having random problems with the .NET
Framework after this update. I suggest you open a case with Microsoft
Support, so that they can track the problem.

John;

Thanks for your reply, we did in fact open a case and have been working with
Microsoft and so far the fix we put in place on Wednesday seems to have stuck.

To get back to the land of the living we needed to do the following:
1. Uninstall KB928365
2. Correct the ACL list for the following directories:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp [Temp Directory] - Thanks to Rod Trent
for this step
3. Reboot the Server

Anybody that needs more details about these steps - let me know I'd be happy
to provide the step-by-step info.

Mark
