where did my deleted emails go?

All of a sudden when I delete an email in Windows Mail they disappear. They
used to go to the deleted folder but not any more. They are just GONE!
Anyone know why and how to fix this. Sometimes I like to refer back to an old
email I had previously deleted so I would like to change this setting back.

Consider checking: Tools>option>Advanced tab >Maintenance.

Also check your Deleted Items folder's View settings. You might not be seeing
all messages.

Go to Tools > Options > Maintenance > Advanced (button) > make sure that
under 'Clean up' > 'Empty messages from the 'Deleted Items' folder on exit'
is not checked.
