using MSN messenger/windows live messenger for years when suddenly today its
telling me i must upgrade to continue. if i press no it won't sign in and if
i press yes it tell me there is no upgrade for my OS. as far as i know EVERY
program written for XP post SP2 will run just fine unaltered on windows 2003
server.

what's going on?
