Didn't Realize How Good Vista Was Until......

I have been using VistaU since it was released and I never realized how good
it was until I logged on to an XP box the other day. Just a lot of little
things that I got used to in Vista are missing from XP.

Vista has been ROCK SOLID on my machine since day one.

Since you must have been under the influence of some toxic substance when
you posted what you did,
I corrected what you posted below:

I have been using Vista since it was released and I never realized how CRAP
it was until I logged on to an XP box the other day. Just a lot of little
things that were FRUSTRATING in Vista, JUST WORK in XP.

Vista has been DUMB AS A ROCK on my machine since day one.

Substitute "vista terminal ator" for "Vista" and *THEN* it's correct... :-)

Why do you have trouble believing that people are having GOOD Vista
experiences? Believe it or not, it happens.
I don't deny that others have had lousy experiences. But why is it so hard
for you to believe that people do have rock-solid Vista installations?
What would they gain by lying about it? As far as I know, MS isn't paying
folks if they say good things about Vista in this forum (If they are, then
I'll be sending a bill to MS soon). So what purpose would a poster have in
lying about his Vista experience?
I just don't understand where you're coming from, Vista Terminal Ator. Maybe
you can explain.

It is possible to use vista without a problem. But for me that way is not
good at all.

1) you have compatible hardware and a new computer.
2) You install a limited amount of software that work with Vista.
3) You use Vista in a very limited conservative fashion..
4) You make backup images of the whole OS, so even if something gets screwed
you can revert to a backup.

But in the real world all the above does not happen very often...

Hi terminal,

A: It destroys the natural order of the conversation.
Q: Why?
A: Topposting
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet?

(Please don't toppost)

Why do you insist telling everybody that Vista stinks?
It is useless.
People who use Vista have their own experiences and won't change their
opinion based on your postings.

I for example, had my fair share of annoyances with Vista, and look
forward to SP1.

Yes, and if you didn't know that before you bought Vista, you are a
nubcase. You should be assambling a computer in the first place if your
knowledge of hardware and software is that limited.

> 2) You install a limited amount of software that work with Vista.

Untill now the compatibilitymode let me run all software I cared to run.

> 3) You use Vista in a very limited conservative fashion..

Like running Quake1 on the network (designed for W95)?
Runs smoothly.
All old stuff I tried worked so far.

Backup stinks. I must agree here.

>
> But in the real world all the above does not happen very often...

Coming from *nix and W2000 I had low expectations for Vista.
I must say I am not disappointed so far.
I saw only 1 blue screen so far, and Vista doesn't do a good job with my
RAID1 system, and I am really annoyed I cannot change the language Vista
speaks in.
But besides that I am reasonably happy with Vista.
(Of course I don't use IE, but FF, which makes Vista a little bit more
safe.)

Seriously: What happened to you and Vista that you are so worked up
about it?
Share it, maybe that will change somebody's opinion on Vista.

Erwin Moller

Now we see the source of your logic.
Your assumption:
"Since you must have been under the influence of some toxic
substance..."
Or you could post the source for that information?

"...DUMB AS A ROCK on my machine"
That has NOTHING to do with anyone else.
Perhaps your computer is not ready for Windows Vista.
Perhaps there is some unknown hardware conflict.
Perhaps PEBKAC is the real issue.
In any case, whatever is the issue with your computer clearly does not
apply to all.
You probably need a different operating system.
If I felt as you describe, I would not stay with Windows Vista.

Your inability to accept the FACT many have success with Windows Vista
is your own limitation and no one else's.
The fact is, many have success with windows Vista and until you are
capable of recognizing that basic FACT, you will probably be plagued
believing in your own misconceptions and creating your own
limitations.

Windows Vista has performed well for me on two older computers since
about November.
Another FACT.
