A different KB927978 problem

Shortly after downloading KB927978, I tried to update my CA Internet
Security Suite. The update downloaded fine, but when I tried to install,
the Windows installer started to loop. It finally told me it couldn't find
the file Windows/Installer/CAPF.msi. Now every time I start using the
computer, the installer loop starts all over again. I'm using XP Home. Does
anyone have a solution?
By the way, I can't find the folder Windows/Installer.

Sorry Charlie, one has to log in to view that document. Is there any
other publicly available link that will explain this issue ?

Sorry about that Mow, I believe there is a provision for sign in as guest,
but just in case this link should go direct to the document. - Charlie
