Hi I have windows live messenger version 8.0 and i am having trouble adding
contacts. When I add a contact they appear in my offline contacts list but
only as there email address, not their name. I also cannot see if and when
they are online. If I log out from my laptop and log into windows live
messenger on my husbands laptop (or any other computer) i am able to see
these contacts. I don't know why i cannot see them when i am signed in from
my own laptop. Also, some people send me messages and i can respond to them,
however in my contacts list they are listed as offline and at the top of the
conversation box a message appears saying "this contact appears to be
offline. Any messages sent will be delivered to them when they sign in" or
something very similar to this.

Please help...it's driving me nuts!

While the issue described on this blog entry isn't exactly the same as what
you are experiencing, see if the workaround works for you. Very good chance
it may help.
