I have read thru some of the questions posted on tis site and I realize that
the reason my Olympus D-380 is no longer loading pictures on my computer is
due to the scanner I have attached. My question is how do I disable my
scanner to load pictures?
I have a HP scanjet 3970 and have windows XP
I went to Start, control panel, clicked scanners and cameras, however my
scanner is not there. Any ideas?

Unplug the scanner connection. If USB, disconnect it. If parallel, shut
down, disconnect, and restart. The scanner TWAIN is only loaded if the
scanner is present to the system. Additionally, since this is HP and HP
loads their obnoxious HP device management software at boot without
giving the user a choice in the matter -and which might be starting the
scanner TWAIN, from the Run command, type: msconfig[enter], select the
startup tab, and uncheck the box for the obnoxious HP device management
software. If you don't know what startup app is the obnoxious HP device
management app, use this site to help identify it:
