Not really a Windows Update question, per se...
I would say you should download/install the following things:
DivX
http://www.divx.com/
Specifically:
http://www.divx.com/en/software/divx-plus/player
XViD
http://www.xvid.org/Downloads.15.0.html
Specifically:
http://www.koepi.info/Xvid-1.2.2-07062009.exe
FFDshow
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDshow.htm
Specifically:
http://www.free-codecs.com/FFDshow_download.htm
Reboot before the first install and after each installation. You will want
to install the DiVX Web Player as well - but it should direct you to do that
as you install the player.
