from directx 9.0b to 9.0c

I downloaded directx 9.0C directly from Microsoft website. When I tried to
install the file. nothing went wrong and no error messages popped out. BUT
the thing is when I open DXDIAG. it still shows directx version as 9.0b. does
anyone noe how to fix it or if anyone knows whats wrong with it. Thanks

i have the same problem . but my dx installer don't install anything and
don't restart .how can i solving the problem.

Wellz..i had the SP2 beta version installed and when i tried to install
directx 9c . it still shows directx 9b when u open dxdiag..but then i removed
the sp2 beta and reinstalled it again with the full version of sp2 ...and
everything is fixed ...

hey all....uninstalling sp2 allowed the web setup for microsoft to work
properly. Looks like the way to go is install it prior to updating to Sp2.
Actually 9.0c is in the SP1 install list and disappears after SP2 is
installed. Looks like a slight miss on the part of our programming crew. Not
bad though considering the great improvement in the firewall. Hope this
helps. By the way i checked dxdiag and its there too.
