DirectX based Games having trouble running.

When I try to start one of the many simple DirectX based games, the screen
goes black and reduces to the tool bar. You can click on it repeatedly and
sometimes "it takes" and runs. I think its video based and was suggested to
me to uninstall and download DirectX again. I can't find where to uninstall
DirectX, its not on the program list for that option. Can anyone help? These
games are the only thing that is affected.

Go to the more help tab - The Troubleshoot button starts a DirectX
