DirectX9.0 b EndUserRuntime; How to Confirm if its Installed

Hello:

I was advised to be sure DirectX 9.0 is installed on my PC.

In my "Installation History" , at the Windows Update page, I see "DirectX
9.0b End-User Runtime" listed as successfully installed on Nov 2003.

However, I can't locate these files on my hard drive.
How might I go about confirming if it has been successfully installed?
Where would this be located, and which files do I look for?

Sorry: Forgot to mention that my OS is Windows ME and I use IE 6.0 SP1 with
all critical updates installed.

Type "dxdiag" ENTER
Look near the bottom of the page.
