Reason i wish to this. Is because it is a useless tool, and does not tell you
anything and very slow. And i would like to install diskeeper ver: 10 is this
safe to do so and is it vista ready.
All help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance..
Regards

It may not tell you what it is doing, but it does work seamlessly in the
background which is what Diskeeper does by default, neither showing progress
in that mode.

Diskeeper 2007 is a better bet than version 10.

Hi GT4me,

You cannot disable Disk Defragmenter, but you can turn off the "Run on
a schedule" for it. This way it will not run unless you manually run
it. This tutorial will show you how.

The newest version of Diskeeper also introduces VSS compatibility with
Vista as well as a number of other improvements, so it ought to be
really good. I have used the 2007 Pro version on a Vista laptop and
prefer it to Vista's own defragger although both work on similar
principles. DK allows you to select the type of defrag on the drive(s)
of you choice, plus manual defrags are very fast.
