how to disable a feature

i have win media 10 and i want to make it so that when i go to a website that
uses a video clip as advertising or for anything for that matter that it
won't automatically start loading and playing it. i want to have the choice
to watch it or not. i am currently using the new ie version 7 and have win xp
pro sp2

I hate to break the news here, but WMP is adware. It's whole function is to
get you to spend your money. Playing media is just the tool to get you to
the ad just as downloading media was simply the tool to get you to the
spyware in Kazaa. There is little functionality in WMP for allowing you to
not see an advertisement.
