Neither mathematical formulae nor clipping wires is required. The
keyboard can be configured to disable whatever you want by using
software. The program I use is the freeware SharpKeys, which you can
get at
http://www.randyrants.com/sharpkeys/
Personally, I find that the Caps Lock key and the Insert key are
annoying since I sometimes hit them accidentally, so I use SharpKeys
to configure the keys to do nothing when pressed.
