I use WinKey for assigning shortcut keys to start up my favorite apps.
Windows logo key + X is a combination key that I want to use for starting an
application, however, it seems that in Vista, this combination key is
assigned to Windows Mobility Center.

Does anyone know how to uninstall or disable the Mobility Center so as to
free up its shortcut key?

Thanks,

Daniel

It's called Ease of Access in Control Panel. Try changing settings there. I
think it would be easier to use another shortcut key for the app. You do not
need to use Winkey--which might not be compatible with vista. Just right
click on the executable file, choose Properties, assign a shortcut key.

Yea, you would think so...

I couldn't find anything in the Control Panel that would allow me to assign
shortcut keys.

Same goes for the Properties of the executable. Nothing there for setting
the shortcut key. (Perhaps I would need to create a shortcut icon first,
then access properties for that?)

Also, I want to reassign the shortcut key for the Mobility Center, not for
my application. The application is something I use a lot, and start up many
times a day. The Mobility Center I have no use for. (I have a strain injury
and rely heavily on a customary set of keys for navigating/controlling my UI).

Thanks,

Daniel
