Hello,

I need to install SP2 on a w2k3 server std. and cannot due to an incorrect
detection of free disk space. The box is a dell 2600 with a HP sa-642
pcix-133mhz raid card with 4x 36GB 15k drives in RAID5 conifg. Due to some
sort problem with the Dell bios not being able to read the signature of the
raid volume correctly a work around was used with a floppy to load the ntldr,
boot.ini etc. The boot.ini on the floppy contains this: It boots off the
floppy then loads windows, this configuration has worked fine for several
years but now sp2 needs to be loaded so .net updates can be installed.

[boot loader]
timeout=5
default=signature(50b724a5)disk(4)rdisk(0)partitio n(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
signature(50b724a5)disk(4)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WIN DOWS="Windows 2003 Server,
Standard" /fastdetect

As you can see normally the signature is not included. Unfortunately,
service pack 2 for w2k3 does a disk space detection but somehow seems to look
at the floppy (best guess) for free disk space. It then produces a "free up
at least 2 mb of disk space for installation to continue. My %SystemDrive%
and %SystemRoot% are correct and point to C: There is 60GB free on C:

I am familiar with the command line arguments for sp1 and sp2 installations
but cannot find any documented or undocumented "skip disk space check". Is
there one?

thanks,
Jeff
