Hello,
I have a question about MSN and Windows live
messenger : I tried to change the registry with :

a.. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Policies\ Microsoft\ Messenger\ Client
b.. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software\ Policies\ Microsoft\ Messenger\ Client
c.. Add a key REG_DWORD "DisableFileTransfer ". Change the value to 1 to
activate the restriction.
But it doesn't work ... Could you tell me why ( maybe that's the version of
msn )
and could you tell me how I can disable the transfer of files with MSN et
windows live messenger ?

Thanks in advance

Rafi

Hello,

I tested Windows Live Messenger with Vista - registry entry did not work,
MSN Messenger 7 with Windows Millenium - registry entry did not work either.
I guess it will only work with Windows Messenger and XP, if anyway.

But I don't think there's an option for Live Messenger or MSN Messenger at
all.

Greetings,
P. Di Stolfo

Greetings Rafi,

Messenger has not supported these GPO options since version 4. There is no way
application-wise to disable file transfer.
