Disabling certain TV channels

Is it possible in Windows Media Center to disable certain TV channels which I
do not watch? In one of the channel, WMC gets stuck [black window, noise
etc] and takes lot of effort to move to the next channel. Besides, I do not
like some channels at all. I am using Vista ultimate.

Yes
go into Settings - TV - Guide - Edit channels
uncheck the channel you don't want, click Save
