Hi,
We have a DFS namespace with about 10 root target servers. Some of them are
DCs some of them are fileservers. All Servers are running Windows 2003. The
problem we are having is on only one server which is a DC.
A few times a day on this problem DC (let call it DC-A) all the links on the
DC-A suddenly disappear. when I look on the server in the shared folder
E:\DFSRoot I only see a few folders left. All other folders (which are all
direct links) are gone. The folders that are left are folders that contain
DFS links themself. I have not yet tried to see whats in those folders but I
am fairly sure that when I do I will find that links in those folders are
gone too. Essentially the Namespace doesnt function from DC-A.
The only way to solve this now is to remove DC-A as a root target and add it
again, then it will function for a few hours and disappear again. The problem
is that this DC is in the bussiest site. All other DFS root target servers
are fine and dont exhibit this behavious. As far as I know there is no
difference between this DC and the other target servers and as far as I know
there have not been any changes on this server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
